The first few days of announcement
The story began by 10: 45 am on Monday, when I assemble all the mangers to the conference room, and told them the STORY, it's been a while since I share story with wisdom with them; I began with the unique experience I embrassed duing Christam Eve at Wutai; the expected twinking neon wasn't shining, the black out casue me to tilt and look at the sky, the discovered of hundread of stars above me take my breath away, the breathless experience gave me a new insight - You can only find the brightes star when in the dark; then I express to all the audience my resignation and the approval by the Board on the 21th. I can sense there's shock at the conference room , but I have to finish it quick and walked out the room without answering any question.By 3:00 pm, Chairman S. sign-off the assignment for K. as new CEO and set the on board day on Jan. 1st. there's a shadow in his heart, keep distance from me, seems like I will beat him up? this is really S.'s problem. the announcment of new CEO made by 4:30 pm, and my farewell letter to all send out in 5 minutes.
There's no so called Domino effect as HR and Finance head's leaving wasn't a surprise to everyone. I leave the office for meeting with my second bid project and arrived home with wife. we went for the ZORO 2, watching movie is simply for removing my sad feeling, no matter how you you prepare for the leave, there will be sadness somehow.
Tue. morning with C. her resignation confirmed and I shared with her the share and capital structure of our company, coincedently, met wtih Hochen at the same restaurant, a secret garden of our own now been occupied, well, it doesn't matter, this is the great chace to introduce my partner with him, he then realized my join his company may take longer then he thought. D. called and confirm my second safety net, I am quite happy and touched. it gave me a good key stone again.
Heading for the Law / Accounting firm to set up my own company - Lichuan Society. I've come up with a line to give birth the meaning of the comapany " We help those who help others ", sound good , isn't it? lunch with M. and started to arrange additional 1 millions mortagage for capital increase. everything in line.
Calling J. to confirm the discussion about my proposal, we met 6:30 pm at Regent, he review the proposal and showing an unstable gesture, then we begin with a few encounter of debating, gradually, I can sense this is not what he wants and I tried to get his feeling and to paraphasing after his expression; I really learns and it gave me a totally new experience of conducting a consulting sales; he spent 2 hours with me and straight to every thing, I reallly apprecaite his honest and willing to let me know " How to deal with a listing company's CEO ", things such as:
1. Consultant can't take the challeng of consult corporate culture, as it must be internalized and if the outside consultant wish to change it, it will leave a symbolic meaning of waiving all the heritage and tradition coming down from the company.
2. There are some mission only can be done and perform internally, some can be co-op, and some are so unique that acqurie speciality to handle, the the last area will be the value this consultant can bring.
3. Consultant can't be too naive to try to handle everything, he can't skelton the sturcture of the company and ask information from the company, it will be treated like an education process instead of a value creating.
4. To get the contract, must be a upside down parimid, a project by project built up, this is to convince the CFO of the company the expense make sense.
5. If the value the consautant provide is not significant enought, it's hard for the corporation to reach the pocket.
I learnt and appreciate the rehearsal and free for my own learning. this is definetely not a frustration, but a real world experice, now I know how to pitch Senyi on Friday and realize my business plan / income forecast must revised again.
Every thing is so real.
