I am working
I feel good when 100 percent devote to work; begin with the monthly gathering meeting - a new routine we introduced this fisical year in order to make communication in the company more trenspenrency and efficient. we targeted to conduct this monthly meeting in 30 minutes and having division directors update the current situation to all employee; I believe even we may leak some of the information to competitors, but this is better off if our employee know less than our compeitiors.I will open the meeting for 5 minutes and to update everyone the corporate policy and send some message as well; as we are far behind the ISP target ; the gap in the month of May is 40% ; one division launch the Member Get Member campaign and announce it to all the attendee and provide some incentives; by the end of the meeting, when conducting the closing remark ( a tail after meeting ), I announce to all of our people I will donate additional 10,000 NT as special award to the best employee who achieve the monthly MGM target by managing to obtain more than 10 subs in the month of June, I set the target for myself, which is 2 ( I should working on it from now on )
Inviting farewell committee members to a Dim Sum lunch to show my appreciation to these volunteer staff; bascially, these members were elected by their depts and to service the employee benefit in the area of : birthday party ; 3 Chinese Festival depertmental gathering; Year End party and company training trip; from last year, I treated the past committe members with meal and to listen to what they suggest. since some of them were junior staff in the company, I spred some casural topics and to ignite the laugh during the lunch.
Review with L. - the director who fill with confidence and who did a great job this morning at the monthly gathering meeting, a simply. clear and powerful presentation he made impressed most of us; he told me A. - Senior Manager in charge of ISP business accompany with him to the shop check and return 3 o'clock in the morning and he told me he can feel that everyone is gearing up for fighting this good fight again. I am touched , when finished the review session, I brought one bottle of German sparking water to A. desk and show my respect immediately.
L. hold an easy attitude when working with us, he always full of confidence and posture with a " I can handle it " embience. this is great. for the best 4 years, I didn't really teach or couch him, but today I did; we only discuss in one topic " Terminate the online shop and its impact to our business "; although I knew by forcasting the revenue, we may not turn to a break-even point for this business; so, he did have a solid groud to favor the decision joinly discussed with COO, and the fire was lighted by the corporation with our sister company in Taiwan - The hardward marketing company, they are not favor with our suggestion letting us integrate the shop to our coming EC mall business, so I raised 6 major point druing our review conversation:
1. How to make up the projected revenue until end of fisical year if we terminate the operation? if there's saving in cost or increase bottom line, then we have to show it in our P and L and reported to the board.
2. How to reallocate the manpower and convince them nothing wrongly but we swift to a even correct direction?
3. How to keep the relationship with other sister company who we carried their product and building strong relationship among the supplier and our subscriber? and if we lost this corporation platform online, once these company launch product related to internet appliction and services, how we can reconnect it and drive the sales?
4. How to keep the pre-order and hit items sales machinism in our coming EC mall business - what kind of store can represent our image and provide us a simotenious learning experience online?
5. We offer the benifit of online shoping for our prestigue product as a strong point to our ADSL subscriber. now we terminate this service and direct them to 6 physical shops, are we mission the goal to provide our subs the added value service which only us can differicate from competitors?
6. Since hardware company is not favor with our idea to integrate product into EC Mall, they may take the same rationale advise their dealer not to open shops in our EC Mall, if that happen, our EC mall may only list with company saling with bargin second hand product or Paraell Import ; none of this service will please our ADSL subsribers and the corporate image and brand may suffer from this.
Going through this thinking routine, he learned and I will keep couching him to be the candidate of the executive in the company.
T. - HR head together with C.- CRM head pay a visit to our ill employee, T. return and report to me the situation, I can sence that she wish me to visit him as well, I told her I will do it next week, when checking his personal information, he worked with us for almost 3 years, the performance were average but satisfied with the company ; I hope he can make it through.
A. visited us without notice, she show up after the greeting with COO, she came to Taipei for the re-examination of her after-surgery check, everything is fine with her and she back to the aggrestive working attitude, although she worked in a local-big firm in charge of marketing loacted in Taichung, she didn't change the way she points things. the last thing I share with her is " Be Happy " she knows what I means.
Finishing the presentation file for next Monday, I revised my ambitious goal and shrink down the topic to " Recording Industry " only this time. try to make the speech with logic and system, so I did change lots of my previous slides and make ti a well-thoughout one. and I really make it, finishing everything beofore going home.
Late dinner with wife in a newly open shubu-shubu shop. the porting is too big, I can hardly finish all the meal.
a very business weekend ahead -- YPO members meeting and kick-out party; Forum follow on Sunday and attending J. and S. wedding.
Determination keep in high level, I love the way I keep my momentum.
Sending one set of PSP to Sky, the ides came suddenly and I do apprecaite the friendship and this is at least I can do.
