we try very hard to find out a way to prevent a possible disaster -- spending 12 million of cash to upgrade our database server with only one proposed solution; COO spending smart time conducting a presentation session for the vendor to tell us why we need it, as this is a single source vendor with one solution only proposal, I don't feel comfortable about it, especially when it was green light by our senior executive, a 12m investment should never be decided by one person without decent reviewing process; I am not question his ethic, but I do question this procedure, as an multi-national company, we shall respect the resource on hand and with a prudent attitude to prove we are doing the right thing at the right time.
