Budget meeting finished today, consecutive 3 meetings followed is a heavy loading for me, due to the replacement of marketing manger, I postpone my arrive to Japan one day later, and fix fundamental marketing organization issues on Monday.
A marketing meeting followed by group meal and welcome new member, after the group. I conduct one one coffee break with 3 members, and arrange a welcome talk with new comers, then review 2 project, sending minutes and planning for the annual marketing meeting. it's heavy, this is my insight when initiative my conversation with marketing members, I am influence as well, trying to escape as they did, how come ? if I , a CEO can't solve the problem left in marketing dept. how to invite and recruit new mangers to sit on the hot seat ? if I feel frustrated when dig deep, how to I convince marketing members to work cheery and happy; I must clear my mind first and dealing with the problem myself, not event think of this is only temporary " acting ", otherwise, no one can replace marketing mangers and conduct promotion activity. working late, wife accompany to a Shabu Shabu restaurant, she can feels that I am not happy, a heavy monkey is on my back; until my flight landing in Tokyo, calling her home, she told me the truth of seeing my " try to escape from the problem " face again, with a few encouragement, I am ready to face this challenge, as a manger, I ask my assistant to clean marketing managers' office, I will sit with the team members half day commenced next week. I even change my flight back to Taipei in order to review the marketing status in late evening on Friday and to interview with 4 marketing candidate.
due to the heavy fog in CKS airport, our plan delay take off for 90 minutes; during the flight, in-flight movie " Veronica Guiluen " is what I saw, a great drama based on true story happen in Ireland, her mother said " sometimes it's braver to leave the stone " her assassination by drug dealer is a wake up call to entire Ireland and change the attitude they fight with the mafia and drug, I don't know if I obtain such a courge to perform, I really don't know.
this is the best budget presentation ever, according to all the attendee, even executives, I did a great job, fully control the venue, response properly, time control and handling all the important points; I am so happy that this is a " no common " budget review session, it never happen before. the team work really pay off, EA is the short version for prepare, Board Meeting is the full review rehearsal, come to the Budget, I deliver the decent and proper message.
