Somewhere between Huiling and Taitung
Inviting to deliver a speech in TATA cable and wiring corporation's strategic meeting at Butterfly Resort, it located between 2 beautiful east town in Taiwan - Huiliang and Taitung. as a potential client, I accept this unusual invitation to the kick-off meeting. a local manufacture established half centry ago. now the second generation took over the company and list in Vietname - make it the pioneer corporation listed from Taiwan.on my way to the resort - a National Forest Park used to be, I didn't close my eye, when wathcing the scene goes by, I was the only passage sitting on the shuttle bus, scence after scene, I check with so many THINGS going to happen ahead of me. I am not scared, I feel peace and calm, the morning conversation with Mr. Han gave me enough courage, he is not a back up for me, but support me in anyway he can. I share with Mr. Han my observation to 11 street, a meant to be destiney for Mr. Han. Gentelman Han is kind enough to instruct me, if this is not the opportunity cost need to be justified, simply go the other way, I am not going to take his advice this time. He it too kind to me and our company, although I have no idea how the investment will turn out, but I knew a man of wisdom won't do any evil thing.
having dinner with Ryne's couple, I feel Ryne's have something in mind, he is not happy, but I can hardly interactively with him, Cathy is a good host who accomodate and accompany me throughout the day. I watch around the attendee who will sit and listen to my speech tomorrow, this is a tough job, average age like 55, long in manufacture industry, speak local dilects, I don't know how to access, I am lucky enough to prepare a tour-like version for the speech tomorrow. I can only making tomorrow morning as intersting as possible, but there no way to change their mindset, same as I can't change my parent's mind. how to begin with my little speech?
This is what I am going to say:
I am lucky enough to have this opportunity to be here in the paradise with you, and to speak whatever I want to in front of all the senior people. As I don't have a crue that what subject fit everyone's need. so I can only do it in a very personal way -- sharing my experience with Sony and with my recent career development, and prepare 2 compleing story about 2 person, one who change 100 millions people's fortune alreay and willing to take the challenge for changing another 1.4 billions poor people, his name is Muhanmudy Yunnus, the other person is a gentelman who left Microsoft in 1999 and set his goal to provide education to 850millions ill-literarcy people in the world. there story demonstrate that with the good quality of human, we have hope for the future.
As I belive every picture tells a story,so, my photo aide speech will follow the sequency with each slide - photos. most of them related to what I have done for the past 11 months. a journey to identify new business opportunity and to discover the me inside. it's not easy to go your own way, and it even difficult to image what frustration will laying in front. because every so called " Imange about difficult " are sweater than the reality. I can't say the worst is now, but I do know this is a maronthon, with no destination, a up and down road, I am ready for enjoy the trip I choose, go your own way.. yes. this is the only word I can said to you all now.
My life experience may not be richer than you, however, as a man of semtimental, I may express my feeling in a better communication pattern. or maybe what your encountered is much heavier than me, but I wish you all well. mentally and physically.
From last night, I learn that most of you sings quite well, so, I will strat my speech with sharing with you a lyrice I love very much, it perfect reflect the mood I am equipped now. because I Fochenese wasn't good enough, so, my 60 minutes of lecture will be conducting in Mandarin. please bear it with me.
If you have question for me, please stop me any where, we don't need to be petient until the Q and A session, normally, my experience told me, if you have the impluse, say it, say it loud and say it now, if the fire cesase, then you won't have the passsion to ignite it again.
Last but not the least, I would like to thank Chairman Mr. Shen for inviting me over, enjoy the good people and enjoy the excellent scenerary. sorry for keep you wake in the early morning and wish each one of you have a prospereous year of 2007.
