It takes 2 and half hours for Q1 board meeting yesterday, this is the first time I do it by myself, with the help of S. I provide the outline and then polish slide and wording.We are not doing good in Q1, Core - current business facing the first negtive growth in 5 years, the launch of new business wasn't no scheudule, the overall performace didn't meet our expectation as well; I am not defending at the board meeting, but to honesty re-constructed the market and where we are, then provided with a " We can overcome " message to board meeting.Yesterday was the last working day for COO in the office and it became the last board meeting he participated as well; in the morning, S. assemble senior staff and broadcasted the documentation of COO to him - it covered almost all the voices from our staff, that was an extrodinary efforts S. put and the CD Rom can be the most precious gift for him.I bought a Monk Blanc ball pen as a soviernier for him, we have a Sharks' Fin lunch at Golden Top Restaruant - we both enjoy it so much, in the afternoon, when I am prepraring the board meeting doucment, COO visit the shops the last time officially.The Farewell Dinner took place at New Hama - the Japanese Steak House, everybody were happy and I take the Group Photos - as yesterday, our Chairman S. Yamamoto resign from our board as well. the brand new board will then structure. new Chairman is very sneaky, after the board meething, he told me to keep COO's office as Chairman's office for him, he will visit us any time, during the dinner, he also mention to hold a second half kick-off session after re-budget. it seems he is very interested in running the show, well... I don't really care. I just do what I have to do.Remember sister Blablaba said " Pick what you dislike first in working " and " Do what's right instead of what interest you first " I should not forget the defination of " Determination " in me.Y. called and said we can have coffee anything, but not to arrange meals, that's too heavy for him, he is returning to the businee and we should reconnected also.

F. don't have a good instant reaction, how come ? it is not qualified to be an executive driver, 2 months ago, when I honestly told him my uncomfortable feeling sitting in the car, he change his way of driving, this is hard for him, to change a behavior last for quite a long time; he works so hard, never miss or late for picking me up, so, you can't complain. this morning, I am really tired of listing to stock news again, the News Radio set the time flame from 7:30 am to 8:00 am for stock analyst report and forecasting the wave, it's been 4 months, I am really sick about it and asked F. to switch radio frequency, he can't manage to tune the radio while driving. this is amazing, it recalled that when I speak over my cellure phone in the car, he will turn off the radio, but when I finished the conversation, he will forget to turn it on again. I don't want to see his distraction cause traffic accident, so, I asked him stop scan the radio until we arrive at the office.
K. investment begin and we ( me and my wife ) found lots of financial problem, I am curious to know if there's no investor join the company in July, how the existing management handle the cash flow problem? and I don't understand why there's no income in the month of July? I became a little bit anxiety and nervous, this is not a perfect way to deliver message when take majority share of a company, I should be more patient and push the management deliver, they don't even know there potential, there's a glass ceiling in J.'s heart, he must break it, otherwise, the company will be in great danger
Providing Corporate planning and marketing mangers a guiding rule for preparing the presentation, I would like to record it below, as this rule which I created may help me in a way also:
1. Think who is the audience to this presentation.( their seniority / rank / background / expectations )
2. Think what purpose to be served for such a presentation.( approve / agree / accept / apology / against ? )
3. Think how to leave the impression we design in limited time flame.( turn the bad result in good shape? unforgettable what? )
4. Think if we have the second chance to re-do it again.( challenge every angle / viewpoint we provided before presenting it )
5. With a story to tell. ( the story of logic , story of reason, story of dream, story of turn around; never probe a story of failure )
to take the board meeting as an example :
Background : we will have a new Chairman who is not familiar with our business and may not support us as before.
Story : FY05 Q 1 overall performance is poor , decline of ISP, slow and delay for new business, COO is leaving, the company go through a new organizational change....( The Fact ), but...we manage to do this and that, change this and that, fighting this and that, ( The Defense ), so compare with last year ( with us ), with market ( competitor ), we are not so bad ( Cosmetic ) and we have a plan to do this and that in Q2, fix all the problem in coming season... ( The story to make believe we will be alright )
Purpose : Overall finance status is cope with our plan, even we didn't reach the top line, but save the bottom line prove that we are relatively doing OK. So, don't worry. ( buying time for rooms to improve )
Impression : ECmall acquired 100 shops before launch service. Mass Media Coverage for community service. HW sales exceeding performance. Develop with CHT negotiation. Bandwidth Cost saving in near term. ( The positive bright side )
How: The turn around plan in Q2 for ISP business, improvement of revenue shortage units, contingency play for not performing business. Organization after departure of COO.
This is only an example for you, you don't need to follow the rule, but to logically identify your own version of a convincing story to tell.
Last important thing is:
Make every slide a story / implication / insight, otherwise, delete it. Beach Concert
The concert is postponed due to Typhoon, my beach dream was brokened , as the glass falling down from Park View Hotel, once the spectacular scene and the dream waiver, now it all gone with the wave.I will go to the beach by myself, enjoy day along, at beach, at Fu-long, be who I am and be what I am.
My Wet Dream

I don't know. just a gut feeling.
Typhoon and Carrfour
To remove the boring afternoon, wife suggested to bring the family out, and decided to visit one Hyper Market - Carryfour Shien-Dien Shop; this Magastore take both super market and deptartment store's business, we incedenctally went there once, so, today, at a Typhoon evening, we decided to bring the family there.
It's like a big market, Typhoon didn't hit Taipei seriously, but all the dept. store and theather were close, it left only Hyper market as the amusement park and the playground for kid. both Sound and Fruit love it. we spend 3 hours there and enjoy the tones of foods and grocerary there.
It left 4 more days for COO in the office - more specificly - 3 days as Thursday is his last working day in Taiwan. I have to pick up all the trivial and emergency issues. when express this tension and busy status last week, Chung Chi seems not so favor with my worries, he thinks I am over-state about my busy and told me how he act as CEO and COO for quite a long time, but enjoy his noon nap break for a very long time. I should asked him how to handle it.
Turn on my T27 and managed to get it on line, this is the first time I do it right at home, I am happy to access my blog over this new gedget, slim and stylish.
Typhoon hardly impact on our house, We've been here for 5 more years and we never facing the termination of electricy under any Nature Laws, we were lucky to be here and I do wish I can keep the house with us as long as possible; I remember when doing the Iventory check of life , the 4 things left in my post it were : my wife - the person, husband - my role, house - my belongs ( the first 3 itemes were actually linked ) and music - my beloved intangible things. how can I live without music and my love, House is what I wish to render to my wife - to suppor her life in a better way...
Kingdom of Heaven
To thak the advantage of Typhoon, Taiwan take extra day off on Monday, although a lot of people suffering from the flood, strong wind and damage of property, but we live in Taipei , a relatively save place, so the extran day off seems like a long weekend tailed after Sunday, the only difference is you better stay at home, otherwise you must bear the risk of your own.
Sunday, I plan to fix the long delay report of EZfly, as I can feel the typhoon may give me one more day at home, I decided to relax and lazy for a while, to smoothe Sound's bad temper the he querrel with his mother, I promise him to play the PS 2 Games if he can finished his home work. so, I spend 2 hours with him in front of the TV games.
I always want to see the movie " Kingom of Heaven " and this Rotelly Scott film should be an epic I guest, miss the first run showing, now the second run is near by, me and my wife decided to take the typhoon leave to view the film, we went for the 2 shows in one price therater 10 minutes from our house and enjoy 2 films at the same time, I can't remember the title of the first movie, the YA Generation movie is describing a ture love came late, but finally the lover find themselves and live happly together; this cause me a greate confussion, which is : why all the happiness lead to only one answer -- To married with the one you love, Marriage is not the beginning of love, neither the end of the love, but all the movie will tell you if you can marry to the one you love, then you are no happy, they don't trace any unfortunate happened when 2 lovers getting married and turn out to be " Unhappy couple ? ", maybe this is the magic of love, the magic of loving each other, I don't really understand, as a man married for almost 20 years, the affair of love ( not the adutray or mistress sore of things ) happend but you don't let your body follow your heart. ..... only those who are not married can say so.

I had a wired dream last night, I hardly recall the details, but it seems to be a pretty bloodly and brutal one, the only romantic scene it to discover one very attractive zone of elegent dinner, a should be preserved and protected area for find dining.
