Lunch invited by D. - YPO chair from HK, he is a good lobbist and a sophisiticate chairman, whenever there's chance to meet YPOer, he will call a meal gathering out of his busy scheduling, networking take time to blew, this is what he good at and this is what he value for. collecting information from him and A. the other day, I am pretty much confirm that travelling industry - especially inbound tourist from China will bring next wave of ecomonic booming in Taiwan, and I double comfirm my next move.Share my insight with 2 directors about moving sales / direct shop funtion to business unit and make it a vertical chain in current company, the design of organization is a much complicate issue than any management topics, no matter is a functional operation or profit center consolidation, there won't be perfect design in one company; my philosophy is " Identify the best to perform his / her good at ", I share it with them and use a metaphor which is, if this is only the symphon of blood cluster, try to find the origin of the problem, don't be too radical in handle the problem by conducting a transplate surgeory, the consequency may be peace forever, tried to calculate every single risk before implementation. Dinner was a great one, me and my wife attend C.'s house, we were there 30 minutes before the schedule, she bought ready food for the in-house dinner, as Pony wasn't home then, there's no cook preparing for the dinner, We checked their house, the first self owned house is a great experience, everyone take it as the jewel , we talked over the dinner table for more than 3 hours, Pony join us by 8 pm, a nice guy, it seems like 2 families have a never ending story to share. it makes a good combination , and we almost finalized the plan for Side Project - Our gourp and our project to the future , we position Side Project a " National Travelling competitativy Research Center " and to lead the policy before any commercilization of industry, this will make my next step a perfect match with Side Project. we cross our heart for the future.
Sharing all the coincedence and cham with wife till very late - I dare to look at the clock, she is very happy about it. me too.
Run from office

Dinner arranged by A. at Regent last night, I didn't know who the gentelman Anthony was until dinner, he is the Minister of Finance Dept. in HK special district now and conduct varies policy which turn the HK economy revital after SARS, as a senior YPOer' we were invited to have the dinner with him and share his wisdom and insight in varies topics, among it, the topic cover the ecomonical tread and political development across the strait generate most of the interest during the dinner. he is a nice and decent person, same as Chaster who A.J brough to the dinner. a decent gentelman from Singapore as well.Before dinner, doing a short session with C. in regard to her Side Project 2006 plans, we identified some " Must Do plus " some " Must Do " and some " Must Do minus " and go over a few administrative subjects, I think this time the plan will go live and she will officially working in Side project as shareholder and administrator from Jan.Wu called and inform me there's a interview appointment at I-Lan on Thursday, it match what he wishing for, at school in charge of student caring and administration, I do hope this can be done, then the burdon of taking additional person will relief temporaray, Wu's son is so unreasonable , asking for free concert tickets and for buying discounted branding product from me all the time, I am not favor in such a development, when Fruit was taken care by Wu, this can be a trade off, but now, I may only concern about Wu , but not to extend my caring list to his family, especially for such a childish child - who is 26 years old now.went for the second Golden Horce Film festival in the morning , another disappointed one, a French Sycological crime movie, so slow and not attractive story, maybe to selcet good film is so important when you decided to participate on any film festival, you don't really know what 's the rationale behind, and how they select those films.Late chat with AJ to convey my message of where to go after, I thank for his offer and his help in connecting me and Chairman, a firewall for me, as I requested. Finally, I clear myself and let go the feeling of putting him in hardship, because it is no point to invite someone to join us, but before he on board, I give him a lecture and warning him this is not what he wanted. Free Freeman is the key message of the day; if you wish someone to feel welcomed and contribute to a new venture, you should hide your true feeling and fake what you know, if he or she wasn't directly recruited by you; however, if you hold your opinion, you can carefully describe the risk to the guy who insisted to recurit this person, and to advise him , he must take the risk of his own -- what make this situration strage is : CEO will be the one to be put down if the overall performance of the company is below expectation, why not determine on this issue? this is because he will no longer in charge of the company, he should make the trasaction as smooth as possible and bridge the gap to next potential candidate, otherwise, there's no way for him to leave without complain. " Free Freeman " is the lesson I learn, how interesting is K. can always get what he want - in the end. the persistance you keep, the longer you wait, the harvest you reach.
Chairman Chen called from Legislator Yuang again, tried to get my answer, as I told him , my decision will be made by 22nd of this month, although, I knew the answer already, how funny I am the card in his hand, and the deadline approaching sooner than Chairman's execpation, I should response to him earlier.

Do a honor lunch with top 2 call center agent, this 2 person - Rocket and Tina are the less talkative person I've met in this honor lunch routine, this is fine with me, the only differece is we finish the lunch early and complete the session in 40 minutes.
Follow with the coffee break with HR Head and P. explain why to HR head, although she submit her regination application, but she wish to be the best employee and tried to block what K. think he want to do, but... I don't know why A. asked directors to have group dinner on the 23rd, I thought it's only 2 of us and the answer will be arrived, probabely I am wrong.
Dance of Cha-Kwang
This idea came up when we had the dinner one month ago, Learning that Sidney will open his own clinic by end of Oct. we were thinking of how to make it an impressive event among us. I suggeted to do the Dance of Cha Kwang, which we normally seen on opening of new shops / retailer in a very Chinese Ceromenical way. I hire a master to teach us in my office 2 weeks ago, Sidney's clinic postpone of opening for a week, so, we delay our performance from last Sunday to yesterday, and the performer ( dancers ) reduced from 3 to 2 classmate, this is what I want to do; dressing up the custome and wear the tall hat, put on our mask, we look just like professional.arrived by 11:10 am, push the audio buttom for " Play ", we dance for about 15 minutes - this is the maximum we can do for the day, the robe is heavy and thick. there are more than 20 classmate attending the opening ceremory.Taking the chace to chat with J. at corner coffee shop, I did complain about his hiding from attending the K. University, be a friend, I am straight forward,I am not in the position to emabrassing him, but to tell him if some of the important information was filtered between friend, then this is a discounted friendship, it won't last long. the interested thing is to know there's a chace for Private Equity placement in his company. I may need to inform Andrew about this.Attending the Tawian Film Project Promotion session in the afternoon, I was there on behalf of CHT - Kind of strange, however, met Tom and Professor Lee there was good; they invited Bill Chiang - the director for " Croching Tiger and Hidden Dragron " Daggering " and " Hero " to share his Chinese Film production experience with a few selected guests - some of them came from VC, some of them came from the banking system; the conclusion I make for Bill's experience sharing is : Movie investment is a long term perspective business, don't expect to have an overnight triumph. I am not sure if anyone in the seminar will dare to invest.Helping Sound to pack his staff for Ali moutain travelling study, this is the primary session at Forest School every semester. if I didn't join and help to pick, the mother and son will never finish it by 2 in the morning, mother is so indecisive and can't make up her mind the sequence to place staff in the bag, kid is so naive and take it as a game in packing; thanks God I made both of them go to bad by one in the morning. this time, Sound will discover Chao tribe.
Extended Birthday - Birth Week
I skip the seminar listen to Son's speech and decided to extend my birthday to a movie : Life is a Marical, this is a compensation movie to make up what I had earlier in the morning; to celebrate my birthday, me and my wife reserve 2 tickets at the Golden Horse Film Festival, and I pick one director who I admire for a long time - Peter Greenaway, we've been to his film several time, and we really appreciate his art / lights / setting and the unchanged tone of " Balance " or " Symatric ", however the lateste work : Tusla Pauter's suitcase wasn't the impression we carried over the year; it's too experimental and too avegada, we hardly pick up what's message he wish to carry? the worst part is the showing time : From midnight to 2 in the morning. I keep myself awake for the EXPERIENCE of an unforgetable birthday, this is really a weired experience.
Life is a maricale is a great one, director is who we love also, he produce the " Black Cat, White Cat " " Under world " those films with one message - the civil war in Sloviar and the story in the war - in an irony and funny expression, he let people aware the pain in the war, but the humor it carried won't bring you bloody feeling. a great director.
Father invited everyone for dinner on Friday, he said this is for my birthday, when my wife remind him it's no on 11th, then he changed and mentioned his friend saw my news in the magazine " Common Wealth " he feels proud and want to celebrate upon it. 6 in one table on a restaurant is rare these days. we only eat, do a little talk, finishing the dinner in 40 minutes, only eating, very few talking, I don't know why we should have this family dinner, an obligation ?
Went for the second-run movie myself on Sat. " Crash " is a good one, it deal deeply in the racial issue in LA ( it can be treated as the whole America nowadays ), the minority's problem expressing in a crul yet real camara, it looks more like a documentary than a movie, this is a good one, " Grim Brother " wasn't impressed me a lot, the fairy tale turn movie is so so.
I should be ready for the " Dancing for new open " ceremony for Sid's clinic, provide amerture service for good friend indeed is a great contribution, isn't it?
