Man at Starbucks
After my recreation session in the afternoon, walked to the close by Starbuck and enjoy my first coffee today, the service quality is not as good as before, I order the coffee and one European sandwitch, the staff didn'a ask me to find some vacancy before took the order, so, when they service my orders, I have to stand there with a hot coffee and sandwitch and looking for spaces. as there's no indoor seats, so, I have to move myself to the open space - smoking area is suppose to be. sit and take my book " What Got you here won't get you there ", drink, eat and read, no so long, about 15 minutes after, a long grey hair guy approach me and asked if the seat next to me taken or not. No, so he sit next to me share the table with me and Do nothing.. I suppose.
by the time I finished my coffee and intent to leave, the grey hair guy , at his 60's I guess, greeted me and asked if it is OK to take a good at the book I am reading, he started the conversation and chat with me, we use some of Englsih and some Chinese, he didn't complain, I kindly asked what does he do for living, he responsed with a sigh and said that he return to Taiwan 20 years ago -- by then he was teaching in American school for architechur engeering, the next response surprise me a little, he said how come NOBODY KNOWS HIM FOR STAYING 20 YEARS IN TAIWAN? becaues of his look and dress? yes, if you judge a person by his appearacne, you might consider him a homeless with intellence character. I didn't spend too much time with him as I don't want to extend this coincedental relationship. although I do leave him company name and my name.
attending C.Chen's dinner at Emperor Building - the most expensive residental building in Taiwan, which is his soon-to-be house, he use the banquest facility to host his retiring from the chairperson in YPO, as this is another eye open opportunity, so, with a little discussion with my wife, I decided to go and have wife drove me to the front door and decided to leave before desert served. to avoid some embarassing encounting.
The banquest is good, follow the protocal of decent gala dinner - cocktail welcome with finger sandwitch for member to mingul, and then escore to the dinning room, chef is the famous Jimmy ... we enjoy the luxury ambience and gorment food in between. sharing a lot with D. Huang and touch upon Kevin's project with Chun Chi, help to consult I Ping's ADHD Benson's problem and provide basic information to Diana - owner of 101 for what YPO really is...
Didn't spend time with Fruit on her favorite TV show : the On Million Winner, an equivient of American Idol, I miss the time to exchange and built itimancy with her, however, I am not into the world of entertainment, I don't want to inject too much unhealty value propostion to her, I hope Fruit can understand.

2 meals arranged by Mark is a pre-warm up or set up for my presentation this afternoon, without this careful check and balance, I am not sure if I can witness the warm response from most of the attendee today -- especially Wang She and Liao Shao Kwang. I appreciate Mark who brought me here, pay all the accomodation -- even this is the first time I stayed in a hotel providing condom and some sex-build up oil.. I learn a great deal of how to be outstanding among all the new entreprenurs in China - whose who claim to be the leader today in China and Leader tomorrow for the world. the points deprive from dinner last night helps me, no theory , reducing structure ( because this is what Chinese Communist grow up with. you will never win in debating with them in the ideaogy process ), be practical and proactively provide my insight , cases from overseas and how it can be echo to local / deomestic version with a higher / deeper passion. I won the first and hope for the second with executive committe of Alasan, the bright sign is Wang Sher asked me so frankly -- where can I find you? after this meeting... I hope the fire started ....
Busy and Crazy last night, no pains, no gains.... This morning, breakfast session with Jeffrey C. is quite interesting, he had a heart of doing good, promise to find an office that I can share with, he even asked how many staff I am going to recurit in Beijing, thus for him to better prepare the space, the other intersting point from the conversation is the talent management initative, well, I hope I can be contribute as well. third, the PR genius who from HK horse racing assication who is willing to do philantrophy with no underline, it seems to bridge and engage and ranking is essencial. I should keep him update about what I am doing now, as long as I didn't hurt anyone, sharing information is the only devleopment I can do now.
lunch with little mark is quite intersting, to be honest with myself, he IS the competitor from Mckinsey - highly intellent consultant who devoted himself to social venture, what he dream to achieved is what I am doing now in Taiwan, his global connection can be something in Beijing, I don't like to foresee him as enemy, how to build the value chain in between is what I should pay attention too, mark and Shu Shing did is inviting him to the Alasan meeting , I don't mind to have a COMPETITOR conduting some direction in high-level conversation, but this is not fair to him as I 've prepared for this for 3 weeks and process through 3 rehearsal, but he can only be a Talking Head. if I were him, I will not accept this invitation to show up and address points amonge this shot guns.
Dinner with Chris. B. a friend who I know each other for decade, he is consider the best arranger, producer and music conductor from Hong Kong, but didn't get to a point of devloping career in Taiwan, he relocate to Beijing just about the time I resign from Sonet, met him with a good surprise, because he worte the theme song - The Torch Song for Beijing Olympic 2008, what a great honor and unbeliveable achievement he can ever dream of, I am so proud of him, there are 2 othe project which I should looking forward to see:
1. Beijing Vision - globally release in Aug. one year prior to Olympic, all the world will see the 7 minutes documentary with the score by Chris
2. Shoochu Musical Play : dressing rehearsal in Sep.
Beijing is not like what she was anymore, this is a new, before Metro transformation, almost all the taxi put on new skirts, new construction covered the city, not so many spilt on the street. traffice -- yes, the metro cancer is now attach to this city also. this is a huge city.
The good thing of been treated like one of China's provice is the speeding emigration inspection process, you can line with locals and skip the foreign route, quite an advantage to take, this time a very interesting equipment hang outside the inspector's window, when finishing the passport check, the light on and asked your help to rate the services - excellent, good, poor and bad, WOW, this is an custome, a first impression forigner take when checking in the country, I didn't know who is the genius behind this, but.. as a traveller, who dare to push the red buttons? maybe forienger did.
Didn't see much of the city yet, on the flight here, I study all the paper and document from Alasn, revise and polishing my slides, think hard of who they are and how they react to my viewpoint.. making friend and don't let down of Mark, I think I succefully achive both goals.

3 good movies in a day
Although this is my first day return to the office, but I would like to spend time with my wife and give me a good reason to relax with no guilty. so, checking where to find second round movies, this time, we didn't go the same routine - Cha Cha, but to sit at Great Centuary Theater, it used to run the first run movie, but converted to second run movies years ago, the diffirent between Cha Cha and Great Centuary is the latter will show some art films, such as the movies we enjoyed today " Perfect Woman " by Almo Dowa , and the Germany film " Someone else's lives ", and 3 films for 110 NT, you can kill the whole evening at an air conditioned room with no hassals.
I enjoy Someone else's wife very much, I can almost ranked it top 3 movies in my viewpoint for last 2 years. a great intepretation of East and West German, the freedom of art and integrity of art deal with political and authority, the love and care and the ultimate value of human, how a suvilliance expert from KGB equalivent Sepcial Agent help 2 strangers simply because he respect the art form and personality they expressed, when it come to the suicide of the lady and the break down of Berlin Wall., then the play director find who help him escape from an disastor, the last close shop of the suvilliance officer is The touching part of the movie. the book about a goodman, a bood about him, and a honored resepct for him in an unique format - publication of a book, telling the story about him - a good man .... you will shed tear when it come to the end.
Amo Dowa is a very detailed female expert, everytime you watch his movie, he will tell a story about the female point of view, with outrange story telling skill, he can easily produce the imaganaiton for you to go with the flow, to dig more about the heart of a woman, he read their mind and have them naked in front of all audience, this time, he point out a very strong Femalist strength -- Female help females. from incent to socical support, you love the way he describe the relationship between women. I respect that.
Pusuing of happiness is an OK film with touching story, as it was developed from a true story - you are easily lead to a scene of " this is a true story " and you may expect what you see on the move is 100% echo to the real situation, if you do take this view, then you are totally wrong. the only line I can memories is from the Jefferson's Declaration of Independence saying people is entlited to " Pursuing Happiness " instead of " Having Happiness", so it a process, a goal to achive. so, this is what I see from the movie.
yesterday afternoon, the plane delay for almost 2 house when flying back from Macau, arrvied home by 6, took a shower before rushed to ABQ concert at National Concert Hall, this is to fulfill my promise of attending Tong Ho Iron's concert. I didn't falling sleep, but not enjoy it very much. I need to learn more about the classcial performance.
Wednesday is the day for Beijing, I am not sure if Alasan will pave the way to our China development, but at least this is a good beginning.
