I am not sure if the ' good friend " with the dominate carrier will help or hurt us, as a major transnational corporation, code of conduct is the highest bible every executive shall follow, integrity play a vital role in the trust-based relationship; but as you grow the company and grow the business. lot of people want to extended their business with you , so you will encounter with people you force to see ; this time, I think I am doing OK with this situation, as this person vividly express his strong connection with this carrier and the relationship with the high ranking officials who control or making decisions, I don't mind people bluff about how good they are, as 6 degree theory explained it; but I am a little bit worry about if you don't corporate, you are my enemy sort of potential threaten. I am not afraid of any bail operation, the road maybe bumper than before, but as long as we stay on the right track, we will reach at the destination for sure.

creating room for 3rd party and building their business is a very simply way in normal business environment, think about the blood donation, it won't hurt the body, but someone benefit from your " good intention ", in the vital and bright business environment, this is a " mainstream vs application " situation, in the dark side of business, this can be called the " power and corruption " behavior.

I think I can handle it well and can play a neutral role in this situation, for the best of company interest. keep this in mind, then you don't need to overly worry.

I have acted as marketing manger for one month, time flied, I hardly remember I normal diary life, move and sit around marketing staff and release their tension and instability, this is a good experience, all the CEO shall regain the basic knowledge of fundamental operation, almost all the executive agree that no matte how high up you are, close to your customer and visit retailer are 2 major task they should equip all the time, which is right, but if you forget the basic routine / rules / process / communication / response to challenge from cross dept , then you will no longer aware of the real operation, since you been make decision too long and forget the truth of communication and project leadership.

Chief Marketing manager came and stay for an hour, this is the first the Global Marketing Chief visit a network company overseas, American style which I can easily handled; I wasn’t invited to a Japanese dinner last night, this is kind of complicate, as head of one division company, I shall be invited and attend, but as only non-Japanese executive who don't speak Japanese, this is hard to accommodate, if I go , then everyone shall switch channel to English, it may result to a ' unclear communication in quality time ", so, by and by, I skip intentionally or been filtered accidentally, language help you some, but hurt you some, this gave me a new angle to review my position in the company, will I have an unlimited career in the Japanese firm? will I be treated as a guest for good ? It also gave me good reason to think about my future, not selfish, but practical. Everyone shall look after themselves in the end, don't count on someone else, it won't help you in the critical saturation.

next year, will determine my life career as a " always employed ' or " self-employee " status, next 10 years is my golden years, yet the remaining years to climb the corporate ladder, achieving more and learn more. no time to waste, I am not aggressively flight the corporate career, but the longer I hesitate, the limit my career will be.

KPMG held a project management presentation telling us how they -- as consultants will help us changing the project management routine and training our people for the process management. they are very professional, but telling our staff " why " before " how to " is our concern, if we don't have the sense of urgency or crisis, change won't come as we wish; in the early morning, we explained the new organization chart to head of tech, tried to convince him what we -- management plan to do is for the best interest of the company -- flat reporting line, integral resource, project driven and coach future managers -- in the beginning, he is a little bit resistant, because when showing the Organization chart, it seems he is only care about the reporting line and the balance of power, this is what I don't like -- a chart map can't really reflect to what a dynamic organization is, dept. by dept. segment will always create the room of gap and communication break down, change from outside then influence into inside, so, environment changes, we need to come up with new and surviving strategy, in order to cope with the strategy, organizational design shall fit the new mission , and then, resource shall be allocated, simple, logic --- but it consist of too many changed, change the pipeline, focus, structure and people.

HP conduct another presentation for business server upgrade, yes, first telling you how bad your current server perform and how danger to keep it this way, second introduce you a better solution, not the best solution and tell you the current equipment is phase out -- what?, the direct you to the model they promote -- buy the new and expense one and your will free from the crash, from the loading, from the data lost and from the service impact. we all know state of art technology and new machine will definitely perform better than old one, but we don't know whether the investment justified, all we can do it to find the best price within the required service level and hope the company who sold us machine won't go bankruptcy and our people who handle this expensive toy will stay as long as the machine in our rooms.

H. resign from the no. 1 record chains a few weeks ago, she is a strong career woman, we talked for 3 hours, you can't always get what you want; be strong, you must pay some price; she is a good friend of my wife, we met together 5 years ago, and the relationship graduate developed, knowledge in retailing / chain store management and channel development. .busy Friday and Saturday, Friday, COO take a day off, I had an appointment with a searcher who tried to place me a few times, we had the lunch at 101 -- currently the tallest building in the world, most of the times you are invited to recruiter’s office and they X-ray / Scan you and conduct an interview trying to dig more, you are in the low wind, so, they handle the conversation, you are passively answer to their questions. once you got the chance to call the card or shout, you should balance the situation, you pick the restaurant, arrive 5 minutes earlier and identify the seat you feel comfortable, most important, you know you going to pay for the meal, so, you are hosting the entire conversation, this really make a difference, it's no more a interview or a " are you qualify for this new venture ", it's an interactive sharing of job market, life goal and probably solving the problem the recruiter may encounter during the " operation practices ". it's nice to have this lunch, yes, there’s chance to move , but it's a wise or stupid move, I don't know, so, I gave him my " principal " or a " ground ' before he deliver any message to his client.

An old time call and raised question like " are you interested in going back to entertainment industry, but change the battle ground to China ", my answer is simple " only entertainment ? ", well, there lot of room for imaginations. I need more advise from senior and experience people, I am lucky to make an appointment with Mr. Han earlier, some of my question my rest then.
