COO, Terry show up in our office surprise, with his kitchen cabinet, 8 people rush to our company, I did a brief presentation to they, he take notes -- why all the big boss taking note in front of their colleagues - role model .... and asked a few question, he is like an idol in town, some of our colleagues are so excited to see him.....
I participate on an seminar entitled " Beyond Digital ", hosted by ITRI -- Creative Lab and operated by NEXT , they invited Nicolas Negroponte and his associates -- Ishii, water to Taipei and present the " MIT Media Lab update " to people in the industry. as this is a " invited only ' " For CEO " session, so, I have a hungry to learn and know, last night, I took chance to browse the Media Lab site and check a few of their working project, which is so interesting, I bought the " Being Digital " days ago and try to understand what's in Nicolas's mind, he is a very brilliant person, I may upset him when asking if he drinks Evian still after publishing the book, anyway, this is an interesting encounter as well. a few people ( include me ) surprise to see Maurice show up; Chairman of TSCM, The heavy weight in town, the gray hair prove that knowledge and experience were equip with him; the seminar was divided into 2 parts, presentation and panel discussion, the run-down wasn't design very well and I don't think they ever conduct rehearsal before; Speech delivered by Nicolas was great, his " Dog " and " Human " finger point metaphor and " Manager is a terrible killer to creativity " attract people; ishii-san give us a vivid and near live presentation showing how " Things that Thinks ' consortium works, I like his logic and the idea of " learning / thinking like child ' approach to creativity approach. panel wasn’t very successful, John is knowledgeable but can't beat the fox like Nicolas, Mr. Wang too limited to the industry and world of pragmatic which put off the creative light when the dialogue began, Chairperson and host organization Mr. Shun forget that they invited more than 50 CEO in the ball room but did provide any vehicle for the speaker to communicate directly with audience --- this turn out to be a " show " between ITRI and MIT Media Lab, we were invited to the silent movie. Maurice was asked to delivered a few words in the final session, he said, he came for " take " not " giving " this time, but do share his insight about " Passion ", it's not the matter of ' passion " but " how to keep it "

Dinner drag to long with loose focus, no programming idea result to a " when should we end it ? " embarrassing situation, we have all the sister / family company in the hall, high-ranking government officials and business leaders in Taiwan. the only purpose for me to attend this dinner is to pass one business card to the President of the dominate carrier in Taiwan, as we are raising our voice to the unfair competition condition, I really don't want to screw my personal relationship with him, we bring him to see the big shot in Feb. on our way back, he mentioned the love of Bum and wondering where he can find the good Bum shops, I happen to know one and keep the business card with me, so, I pass on this card to him, every touch is personal, I know he knows.
