There are couple days of window between last writing, yes, too busy to deal with business issues and didn't grab time for blogging, for the past few days, lots of thing happen, well. diary is to record what's been happen.
Starting from this morning, I met with Vice Chairperson of CEPD - which can be deem as the architect for Taiwan development, the dept. in charge of draw the road map of ' where Taiwan's going ? ", we met her to raise the issue of unfair competition in Taiwan in the network infrastructure and environment, this is another way to leverage the role as " Foreign investing global company " we only have 30 minutes and she seems to aware of our concern.
Yesterday, there's a pre-budget meeting held in Regent Hotel, we met for breakfast meeting, I was there 1 hours ahead of the meeting schedule, coincidently, I met an old friend who we haven’t see each other for more then 15 years, she married and move to Taichung, I saw her and her husband, we chat a little bit and exchange the contact, in Taichung, she still contact with the our mutual friend, it's been decade, she told me that my news were distributed in the classmate circle, they talk about me and sharing my achievement , been a public figure or celebrity, you do care how people see you and how they associate with you.
Budget went ok, there's are some bugs and I didn't challenge my colleague since they been fix the numbers for days, they are worn out, to be honest, result is more important than process in the world of business, no matter how hard you try, if there's no result, there won't be any appreciation, doing budget is the same, if you wrong with the logic or didn't prepare an convincing story, the logic will then break and you hardly can fix the hole you dig.

I had a great coffee break with our Engineering manager, this is a serious discussion about management down to second layer and the conversation related to communication breakdown , if I didn't dig deeper or dig harder, I may not able to discover the problem in the cosmetic dept. if I didn't aware the ice-berg phenomenon, then I may never knowing why my best manager got such a frustration and thinking of leaving; yes, this is a management case and a tough scenario to think, how to rebuilt the confidents for the mangers down 3 layer below me and not to cause panic for the VP who is the dominate player in the dept. and who filleting me and COO out of the decision process and fail the good solider in the front line.
When the manager advise me not to trust them too much otherwise I will get hurt, it surprise me, trust is the keyword I followed in the job market and this is the centric of my working ethic, how come , my talent manager equip with the courage telling me this message; I don't like to play game and I know our enemy is outside the cooperation , from day 1. I preach for every co-work to think we are in the same boat, to think to survive before success, to work and to service as a family.
I know this is one of the tough task to perform, I know this no to choose from one of them. this is about how to change VP's mentality , to coach him how to act and be respected as the VP, and to create rooms and space for mangers to speak, grow and sharing insight in regard to the company development.
I need to think about it carefully and to conduct a proper means solving this difficulty.
Another MBA classmate reunion took place in restaurant, this time, the hosting classmate names it after the graduation, there are 4 Master attending the dinner last night; as usual, food or drink is not very important, talking and sharing is the main activity when we get together, 2 of our classmate, there son enroll in National Taiwan University this summer, a honor to share with us, tomorrow is the graduation ceremony for EMBA student, I am not going to attend, my sports activity is much more important then the ceremony; although I have been assigned to Professor Chung for the essay, but it's difficult to make appointment with him and to discuss the topic I am planning to address.
