Saturady is the day for exercise, the movie " Riddock " was a great one, my and my wife enjoy it very much last night; the trobule is after the movie at night, she have to cook the chicken soup for today, and the time for her to go to bad is after 1:00 am.
 
after the ping pong session this morning, I was exaugsuted, but the early dinner is so important to Mr Liu, so, the whole family took off by 3:00 pm, it's great and its no problems.

You need to open the door with your bare hands, career ahead is not something you talk about, it should be something you working on, the lunch with Grace is an invitation to a mutally benefit future, I am not sure is she mean it, but I know if the resources in her hands can be leveraged, my expertise and experices can be easily ride on and realized a convergency world, this may will fit the forecast of IBM's Media and Entertainment 2010, we set a monthly review session and this is a knock on the door action, I am happy that the door slightly opened for me.

My immuse system to love is fragile, it prevent to to openly ingore my reponsivity and accountabilty to my family; too much social news related to lover killing each other or family tragedy these days, although I understand the news is only reflect less than 1% of the happenings, but it amplfied the effect and ring the warning bell , I remember the old friend Yu once told me, one situation shall be avoid when you grow old, that is jumping into the garden ( which means addicted to affairs ), too much family tragedy fill the news paper, young couple commit suicide and taking the kids live with them, what a shame...........
 
Wife prepared delicious food for me last night, the bitter mellon stud with pork rib; it sparked me an idea of new business, as Ben asked why I don't concider to be a consultant ? well, I don't aginst this idea, but how to make it happen is the key, when having dinner last night, I thought of combining my wife's excellent cusine and my managerment expertise to provide a " check-in management clinic " target as high ranking bosses and the executive to be, for bosses, I will provide the managerment / communication / leadership consultancy, for executive to be, I will offer the methodology of how to get to the top trainingl, the clinic will be a " whole day " seminar, let me draft the program below :

this is an intersting project for me -- a holo view to an executive and provide the ture solution to them, a teacher / mentor combination consalutancy, my wife's cooking plus my solid management backgroud, this won't be a difficult step to move, may think more these days.
 
auction is an interesting idea as well, I have lot of staff to be liquidated.

Sharing my experience with Marketing manager about the growth under pressure, as her dept. may go through a high turn over period, for a new and young manager, the challenge is a early gift for her, as I told her in high presure, a condensed growth will come in fast pace, don't escape from it and see all the challenge a power to grow, then her capibility to handle the dept. will increase significantly; the stroy I told her is in the music days, when promote to Managing Director and facing the difficulty of keeping talent while your previous superior ( now a compeititor ) allinace with your key R and D head ( the terminology in music industry is A and R ) trying to steal the super star from your roster; how I survived from this difficulty and win the respect among industry and become the real industry leaders; it reflected to how we see obstacles as the growth driver and facing the challenge and never withdraw; my encougerment to marketing manger is to have her believe we are in her side and she can overcome all these challenges in short and become a great manager in the compnay.
 
A celebration lunch with M. to congradulate on her post-probation , she is now a respected Finance and Administration manger in our company, I pick the restaurant in the buliding 101, you know what ? I met with people every where, after lunch, I take the opportunity to buy a liuli for Mr. Lu who promoted to Conerl of Chinese Army, in the shopping hall, I came across Alex, the guy who should reply my call 2 weeks ago and Mr. Chung, the primary high school student who brought his family to do a window shopping and now in the Liuli store, hey, I am not so popular, but how come I meet people everywhere ?
 
Check our IDC in S. a building familier yet stranger, should I WORK here ? the equipment we located here cost tens of millions, A. our engineer introduce us the function of each equipment and this is the first time M. get to feel the asset of a telecom company.
 
I receive a call from Regent Ping Pong club, they've schedule a tourment on Sunday, I will be one of the key player, well, I love too and will try my best, how interested to put on my team uniform and fight the good fight in the table.

The ping pong session tonight is so exciting, the coach take a break to join our games, he is professional trained , bit him will win yourself tremendous enjoyment, I won twice, so , I feel great tonight; Goose mother is an aged player who attend the training with the coach, she runs a goose meal restaurant across Nanking East road, I've been there couple of times, a very delicious local delicacay; when she enterd the playing field, first she did is calling our name and check if 5 of us were shown up; a very nice and opmissic woman.
 
CS Lewis's books arrived, I ordered it from Amazon, this is a package of his works, I like the cover design and begin my reading with " A Grief Observed "

Lunch with C. was great, he really in love with Taiwan now, stay here for 16 years, he is now discover the beauty of Taiwan and access to places he never been before, this new experience gave him a new aspect to life, he feel content and feel comfortable, C. brought me a gift to congradulate on my  graduation -- the book " The Monk and the Riddle " written by Randy Komisar, I wil finish reading and tell him my thought after it.

H. finally delivered his unstatifactory about my relunctany in investing his business, this is a long story, but the answer come out at Starbucks today; what keep in someone's mind is a secret, or a bomb, it's good that he release this message accidentally; I honestly told him I will not invest on industry I am not familiar with nor invest in the not yet proven business model; no matter how they call it, a biotech company or a nonotech company, developing in skincare product is a tough direction, everyone knows skincare have a huge potential and decnet margin, so the competiton is ferious; H. know the market doing by lerning, yes, he is a quick learner, but run for cash for last 12 months won't really benefit on his good brain and excellent plan; he knows product speaks, and the system operation is greater than single trading ( his defination of system included : the training platform for service in the future; the market platform for channel development; the modulized formula platform for time to market product profilication ), he knows the capital market won't be impress by their current performance, the sell of 1000 bottles is way behind the 10,000 bottle / month for sexy EPS, I honestly told him, if the second phase of capital increse didn't arrange, the dream of turn 1000 to 10000 won't be realized and the business will be in vain, without one of the so called " platform exercise " it's impossible to move the product from nitch market to mass market no matter how powerful the product present.
 
He is a genius a local hero, I am glad he told me the turth of my absent in investing his company, it alert me to keep distance and alert me not to disclose my network to early for him; the history told me not to trust people to early, the Chinese saying taugh us " whenever encounter with others, only disclose 30% of the story " the hind side is larger than brigh side, I shall learn the hard lesson; Wife didn't want to to help M. too much, I shall listen to her, don't be proud of becoming the helping desk among friends.

As I roughly mentioned to you days ago, the project which gathering elites ( you may interpreted as man with passion ) from all walks of life in Taiwan to smooth the tension between parties and races is graduate come to a functional dimension; we are going to focus on one documentary film " Working title 「Life 」 " to support the after 921 trauma in the heart of Taiwanese people.
「 Life 」 is a documentary taken from the 1999 921 earthquake, Director Wu spent 3 years in middle Taiwan -- Nanto county where the earthquake hit the most and filming the rebirth ( physically and mentally ) of people there who lost their home, property and family, this is a very true and compelling story , Hochen together with AJ ( CEO of Accon technology ), Lin Hwai Ming ( Founder of Cloud gate dance group ), Mrs. Fan Chuang Liu ( Vice Minister of Ministry of Education ) and other elites initiative a campaign to support this documentary and at the same time highlight the new Taiwan Spirit after 921; you may not know, documentary film maker live in low life and try their best to present the angle and fact which they think should benefit to mankind and its environment, they don't equip with financial foundation neither commercial experience; we -- the group with no name yet are going to grant out help personally and if possible -- influence the industry we come from to participate on this meaningful campaign.
After a few discussion with the core members and director Wu, I invited Perry, Michael, Connie and Vincent to volunteer support this activity -- of course, it will take up 5% of there time in office operation from now to end of Aug. I personally asked their comment and encourage them to see the preview documentary before making this decision, the only 2 person I didn't asked for support from the top are you and Sabrina ( Connie's superior ). Perry have come out with a brief plan to show So-net's willingness to support 「 Life 」, basically, it will be designed as an online promo event and leverage our in-house resources ( art work , bandwidth, e-marketing, e-promo, members , reward , retention mechanism ), the cash sponsor will be minimized to 300 sponsorship tickets in theater( pricing at 150 NT each ), I will attached the draft plan written by Perry for your reference.
Here is the idea which I might need your support at this point:
1. The documentary film company -- Full shot foundation, is a Non Profit Organization, they come up with a wish list to borrow 2 of our projector to be used for out call broadcasting, I am thinking if we can convey the message to Both Takinaga-san and Inayoshi-san and donate it to the foundation, then it will be a great contribution from Sony to the land / love of Taiwan. ( I will have Perry check the model first, then let you know )2. Review the attached file and let me know if the plan scale and resources deployment is OK with you.3. Bring your wife to the movie once it release on Sep.

I want to " Do something" for this land and to bring back the harmony of people in Taiwan, no matter which party they support. once you have a comprehensive understanding, I will asked Perry to follow the procedure submit the plan and obtain resources among dept. involved. Check the IBM business consulting's write paper -- Media and Entertainment 2010, a very infomative and useful guild to my career, I am not saying the trend fit my career, but it indicated that people like me should value more in the future, my expertize and experience shall contribute to the future instead of cruuernt situation, just like buying stock, you are buying / gambling the future earning and projection for the future trend.

pick up my thesis from the printing house and go for the graduation process, to be honest with everyone, I didn't really stroll around the NTU campus before, and I know lots of EMBA students share the same experience with me, no wonder why President of NTU Mr. Chen attending our graduation ceremony, the host will addressed that Mr. Chen will participated on entire event, the iceburg of this paraphashing is he respect EMBA student and value their contribution to NTU.  I walked the campus from the main entrance under the high sun, it's hot and I am all sweat out, to the General Library to sumbit the hard copy thesis and then visit the School of Management for othe process, I didn't know that I have to prepare more than 10 copies for this, so, I need to submit additonal 3 copies tomorrow; the administrator is so understanding, asking you to report the lost of student ID , as almost every NTU student would like to keep it as a memory collective or sourviur.
 
went for 2 art film after, the films are shown in Chuang Chun therater, " Reconstruction " is the first film we went; a Northern Europe film, I like the way the director express the " love with no result ", he called it " A test ", yes, people in the world may encounter with love but can't have a happy ending, so, test is the keyword to represent all the love in vain, no matter is change lover, affair or other unnormal situation; sometime, the test last for good and the 2 person never have a cross road to meet each other and find a solution, something the love won't be matched in the same level,  ' Reconstruction " reflect me a little bit about " Lost in Translation ", lonely hearts seeking comfort, easily find anothe shouder to lay and ended with no result. but what is the " Result ". getting married is an old school staff, it don't guraenty happiness and live happy forever, love is liquid, it may vapor it two perosn stick to tight for too long, " Happy Result " can't really explained it.
 
APARET is a good film, we watched it after the dinner at a vendor, a film full of humanity, it gave us a angel to see the 1915 genecide of Amenia in Turkey, a buried tragedy for one race seeking a chance to see the light; it is a movie in a movie, you have to be very concentrate to check all the lines , otherwise, you may lost in the devleopment of the story; to quote the director's statemetn in the movie " the point is not the death or mascare, but why Amenia been hated so much ? " the film also remind me of encounted with Amenia in the States, I rememberd once in LA, to the concert of Bruce Horsby, we booked a taxi from Downtown Holly to Ventuna City, as foreigner, we don't even know where is the city but dare enough to book taxi, the driver is an Amenia, we drove on Highway 101, to a point where the radio is disconnected but we don't even see Ventura, the driver asked a gasoline station and adjusted the handler. when arrvied at the concert venue, the first show is ove, we buy the tickets for second show, as the night is so late, we bought the driver a ticket to get in the concert with us and take his car back to hotel, If my memory is correct, we spend like 400 US for the taxi fare, in the car, we came across some converstiaon about emigration, he told me righ now ( back to 10 years ago ), in the States, there are about 1 millions of them, some of them are driving taxi for living ( as I see Taxi driver in NY, Most of them are India or Amenia ), and this guy carried weapon with him, he've robbed before, he even show us the weapon in the truck , this is my experice with Amenia. There are 4 of us to the concert, now, the producer left us 8 years ago, a car accident took his life.

Why crying on leaving ? if this is a release from stress and presure, then you should be happen and content, if this is a departure to unhappiness, you should be smiling too; or the leaving cause some pain? or you are not ready to go ? this this is the case, then you better think deep and think hard and find yourself a positive reason to leave; what's the constrains stop in the middle of leaving ? friendship ? no, even you no longer stay in one company, you can extend the friendship with the people you like. jobs? there must be incentive outside greater than inside , otherwise, you won't make such a painful decision.
 
so, leaving a company should be happy, you are happy because you want to forget all the stress and frustaration caused here, don't memories what you thinks is unforgetable, pursue a new career in new company, you will obtain new experience and new happiness ( or frustration ), if you don't get rid of the old company gesture, how the new company belive you will devote yourself 100 percent to the new job and perform to everyones' expectation ? so, be happy with the decision you made, crying doesn't show how loyal you are, this is not a sad good buy, people meet in some cross road, and I am sure this won't be the last time you waving good buy to the company. get use to it , be positive and be turth to yourself.
 
The so called " Third Party power " integreated recently and forming a " School ", they call themselves " Taiwan Democracy School ", principal for the school is Director Ho -- a famous art film director who win Venis Film Festival Award before; the theme for inaugulation ceromeoy yesterday was " Give Taiwan the last chance ", a issue they've been raised before the Presidicial election; I am passimistic about this group -- a group without clear target and goal, only invited celebraity and respected figures to endose on your idealogy won't last long.
 
" Give Taiwan the last chance " is too sad and comfirmative, integrete 3rd party into one platform was not easy, the core of this group come from media, social activisist and scholars, most of the time, we see their face. listen to their speech and readying their articles, but talking about invoving in movement and activty, they are too naive and inexperience, although the press conferecne yesterday, Director Ho memtioned that the coming legistor election, the School will nominate the candidate for campaign, but, no clear " Mission " and " Goals ", and no core and fundemental supports, the School turn party event may die young. I am not a prophet to announce the death of young democracy school. I am worried about the " Platform bulider " too naive about the democrcy and didn't want to wet their foot and get dirt, roll up the shirt and shed their sweat, every decomcracy vitory come with blood, sweat and tear, what price the School Party willing to pay ? Third Party is intangible, stand up and walk need much more movitation, people in Taiwan is now a little be sick of gethering, demostration and there's no " issue " to support big campign, the magic gunshot didn't turn around the situration, I don't see stronger driver to push the democratic rocks. see how it happen.

promise is a dangerous attitude to a person, as you keep your word, somethings people will take it as an advantage and push you to fullfill what you said, but to them, promise is a tool to get what they want, if the purpose can't be served, they can ealisy take back what they said.
 
Remember  someone said it after the election, " Truth " become what politician proclaimed , because this is the merit they don't equip. so they keep telling people how important turth is and helo themselves with this virtue which they hardly have as well.
 
S. apply the registration and the news were announced at the management meeting this morning, she wrote me a long letter and explained how she want to tell me this sad decison before release it to the HR. and the letter explore the memory of Fu Long Ocean Music Festival in Gunliao last year, time flied and it's like yesterday, I know her value proposition swift in recent months, she lost her passion in working and don't know how to putting toghther all the peices, her departure means we will have a brand new marketing team. this is not a good or bad situation, but a reengireering process; I told S. -- the new marketing manager on the day of her on board that she shall be considerable enought to appreciate all the burdon and heritage coming down from team memory's perspective, but she should be murtural enough to understand that all the burdon wasn't created by her, she don't need to carry all the rocks and move them from all the deparment members; the turth is, if marketing have to bear such a bad reputation , then live with it, find the poeple who survive this change and convince people who belive there's hope in the development of the new sturture. manager holds the agenda differ from the team members, she must achieved the proirity mutually set between her, her surbodinate and the suppiers, the proity on top of all the pirority will be the budget and goals set earlier than her on board day. take it naturally and take it easily.
 
Dinner is a new venture as I reserved the restaurant which I didn't go before, this is the first time I set the dinner in a brand new restaurant and risk my " Gourment " reputation in the company; thanks God, the outcome is better than my expectation; the Cantonese food is so delicious and the ambience it created fit our character as well, everyone had good time there. I am happy with finding a new place to increast my restaurant guild -- the restaurant is " Jou Chin "

I am a little bit upset when doing the diary review, what cause my temper I am not quiet sure, maybe it's because the domination flavor I smelled from the officer make me try to wave my flag of CEO, putting some hurdles in the discussion something will show others you are the boss, inmature but it works.
 
Lunch at the little French restaurat, this is a lovely restaruant, the munu is so French -- I mean instead of the Chinese translation, it was printed in French; we order the set and the portion is just fine for lunch, although the change of partner dilute the ambience of lunch, but I was happy with the selction of restaurant and food.
 
Interviewing the potential assistant maanger for marketing, complete the seesion and I summoned COO and Manager to my office and telling them my finiding druing the short interviewing, I told them there minght be 2 frustration coming form this new Assistant Manager once she on board, first it from agent to client, the frustarion in agent is not a phsical frustration , that can only be seem as the creative and communicaiton hurdle, to the clinet side, you will suffer from the not selling product and failing plan, this is a solid and pain experience, the second it the frustration coming from the people you work with, I told the candidade sometimes we appricaite smart people doing stuipid thing and encournge them to teach those who need to be educatated, these factors are what I told COO and Marketing Manger, if they aware of this possibility and know how to work well with this candidate, then it's fine, otherwise, the predicted frustration will drop another bomb to our organization.
 
it's nice to have the coffee break with new F and A manage, she don't seems nervous now, once she knew how to handle the communication with me, the conversation turn easy and relex, I told her why I desing the coffee break and tell her what I expect the aggrestive financing ( not in the investment or hedge side, but in the educational side ) to impove the understanding of P and L for our mangers.

Today is the continue celebration of MAB series, lunch for family , my father insist to book Sun Tai Tenpenyaki for this family celebration, although I've been there once and didn't really impressed by it's cuisine, but for the good will of elder, wife tole me to obey this decison, we are the first customer to the restaurant, " Health cusine " is what the restaurant promoted, chef must leaned lots of " cooking with health " sore of training, not only to prepeare a decent food but to impress all the customer what they eat and how ingredient the digested; this must be the first time I saw my wife eating meat, accoriding to what she said after the meal, this is the biggest porting of meat she ate ever; she is not happy with the price , too expensive, compare with Fu Yaung or New Hama, we may enjoy a lot more.
 
Dinner hosted by Professor Chuang, we ( me and my wife ) were invited to had dinner at his place, this is an interesting invitation, as normally, the student should pay tribution to his advisor and treat them with good meal, but we are doing the other way around, I remember 3 years ago when NTU announce it's final list for EMBA entrance examination result, Professor Chuang call me in the morning and greeting me and my wife with a meal, now righ after the graduation ceremony, we were invited again, a rare and prestiguous honor to me. this is not a feeling of how good the food it, but a inimacy bulid between 2 family, I appreciate this honor and would like to keep the friendship.
 
The Habbis dressing do cause the media attention, all the news today related to the NTU EMAB Gratudaliton Ceremony, my photos were posted, I keep it as a good memory. a momory to prove that I am the MBA now. so what's next ?
