GLC Toronto Day2
The
expectation is still low, compare with
GLC Cape Town, I am a little bit disappointment, the Carnival last night is a flee market, although I am not very appreciated about the Chapter united action to leave much earlier then the
ceremony.
This morning, Morning of Champions is an

at Hummingbird Center, we finally make it to the freshness market for breakfast with other members. good words from
Loay : the only currency in
YPO is recognition, and the coming chair explained why his business grow
exponentially was due to his joint
YPO, the testimony is : 10 minutes with
wise man is much important then hard working for 10 years, well, it perfect describe my feelings.
second day of Forum workshop go with a planning and Q/A session, a kind of loose, the network lunch is
kiotic, sing up for the media / marketing group. well, see what happen. and take my first Tim Horton donut at the break. the break up group elective wasn't as good as last year, the forum for the rest of life is a good topic , however, the content is not attractive at all.
I don't know what will be tomorrow, but Peace Network experience dinner will be a good learning for me, I am expecting to discover more.
Second day in GLC - Toronto
wake up 6:30 in the morning, by the hotle wake up system, I can't believe that I can conquer jet lag so rapidly. 10 minutes later, receiving message from wife, asked about adap a dog for Fruit, I call back home in 6:50 am and started to talk with her , skype help me save decent telephone fees.
gethering by 7:30 am for the breakfast before opening ceremory of GLC. accompany S. to his late registration, so we lost in the PATH , couldn't find our way to meet with other members, we managed to go to the venue - Humbingbird center by asking locals. and saw them in the venue taking seats for us.
The opening day is not as spectacular as Cape town. slide show is good, however, there is no other live / interactive activity or attractions, I am a little bit disappointment and believe they are building the momentum little by little, Loay's speech is great, he is a nature born politician, born in Saudi Arabia and take the chairmanship of YPO last year, I remember when he visited Taipei the first time, we took him to villa 32 from CKS airport directly and stripped of his cloths, offering him a naked welcome at the hot spring, it was like yesterday.
David Martin imporved, I like what he said " The best wisdom is coming from collective wisdom, and diverse collective is the best among them ", the opening speech runs for about 1 hours. we walked back to the hotel for the first day training - the break up group. the group I paticipating is Forum, which I was before, the program is different from what I got last year, although it's more condense and structure, but the assistant trainer was not professional enough, it reduce the power of having new member sign up for the Forum.
We had a working lunch at the venue and right after the lunch, rod deliver a speech entitled " Starfish and Spider ", sharing about the leaderles organization. it will creat lot discussiono or debate in Taiwan.
gethering by 6:30 pm, fate brought me to sit next to Peter, who run a green energy ( alternative energy), I hope it can be connected with my CSR initative. arrvied at the Collusium by 7:00ap, it's free entrace and free leaving. I am asking to leave the venue and join the dinner with our chapter member again, I don't know why S. wish to do so, it really reduce our chance to make friend with other internationl member.
Dinner at the Pearl again, by the lake, no sun, no wind. just eating.
CLC - Toronto day one part 2
Receiving called from Steven for group lunch , I was return from Eaton Center 30 minutes ago, but for the team spirit, I accept the
invitation, we met by 12:15 and took taxi to an
lake side Chinese Restaurant, Pearl. this is an Cantonese restaurant offer dim sum and Cantonese
cruise. S. order one big
lobster and Hi pay the bill. we book the lake view , in the cooling winter, there's no point to sit by the lake.
return to hotel by 2 pm, I play around the Black Berry
Pearl demo which I take when
registering this morning, the Rogers send the first 300 attendee who sign up for the service. I didn't know we have to return it until see the notification letter, I didn't spend too much time on the smart phone, I am afraid of
losing it and cost me 400
dollar plenty.
4 pm gathering for the Networking Game. attending the Imperial room for
Forum officers' first meeting, the host
instruct 2 games to make people
knowing each other quick , first game is to list 20 " Do you know " and have you to find the qualified person in the
category, family get acquainted then. second game is a " Birthday battle " , by assembling members born in different months, it created 12 teams immediately, and having team members to follow the order coming down from the
Master of
ceremony, a competition begins. we -
November Team win the birthday battle and win
our self a
chocolate bar in the end.
I suppose to follow the forum team member to a
Hockey Game social, however, promise S. to join the dinner with all the Taipei chapter member, I skip the first social session and return to my room, as time is enough for a shout swimming, I take my swimming gadget and jump to the pool , this is my long awaiting exercise since 2 months ago. the
energy level is not as good as before, I swim for a 10 round-trip loop and decided to take steaming room for an compensation, as least, I push myself to an action which I didn't take for a very long time.
Sotto sotto is the dinner place we went today, good Italian
restaurant with lot of celerity flamed with their photos on the wall. stay for 2 and half hours, D. and
Kuro-
san join late with 2
hockey sticker on hand, so, they are following the social event and play
hockey.
a few old faces and a lot of new faces. tomorrow will be a good opening.
It's chilly to stand outside by the lake, the strong cold wind will easily tear your ears away, l like cool, but cold is the other story.
GLC- Toronto the first day
woke up 6 in the morning, finishing my first blog and convert to a
Gmail new version, now the
Google is consolidating it's sister
function into one account policy, the empire will then build up.
go for the registration at Convention floor. the package is not attractive, however, I am expecting surprise will come soon, circles performing in the registration venue, i took photo of the jar player and one magician play the cards with me, I thank him for an early entertaining, see his black eyes, I can tell he didn't get a good sleep last night.
Rogers - one of the leading
telecoms operator provide every attendee a black berry peril smart phone to plan around. I was joke about to join the company - I am Roger. however, we need to return the phone to the convention .
Exploring the city by it's under ground system "PATH", walk and do some window shopping, having a 7 dollars breakfast - quiet expensive actually. and buy myself a CROCE shoes for 39 dollars. this is the
convince shoes which I always want to have in Taipei. to get it here is cheaper. be ready for the first lunch with chapter members from Taipei.
First day at GLC-Toronto
Flying for 20 hours, from Taipei to Toronto, I
remembered my first trip to Toronto, that's was 7 years ago, but with the same climate, cold and snowing, that's my first experience about Toronto, a very cold city in the winder but provide the best under-tunnel warming living for people, you can almost walk anywhere without surfing to the ground, the under tunnel connected you to
every major spot in the city, when arrive to your destination, you walk up, put on your heavy coat, and you will not experience the storm in the winter.
I didn't prepare too much for
GLC this time, but to explore and learn, this is my last chance to attending
GLC, and very likely, my last year staying in
YPO, my
qualification of staying in
YPO might be valid until next June, I will tried to stay , however it depend on how good I can be in the coming year.
Cathy have no
discrimination to economy class traveller, the on flight entertainment is good
enough to get rid of the boring time, I watched 4
movies on my way to Toronto -
Invincible: Talking about the
legend of Vincent, how he become a hero in
Philadelphia Eagles and stimulate people , a true story turn to movie , telling a 1970's football striving people story, a city sport can bring hope and
spirit to its citizen, this is kind of American story, but it is true, comparing with Wang in Dodge and some sports
champion, it stimulate people. the second movie is " My little sunshine girl ", I bet it will win some awards this year, a very simply yet touching story. I will bring my wife to this movie when in showing in Taiwan, "
Illustrator " Edward Norton is one of my favorite actor, this is a good story of love and magic. " Storm breaker " is the last one I saw on the plane, a teenage MI 16 movie.

I am not sure if I sleep well, but woke up 6 in the morning of Toronto time, check some mail, browse Yam's page, get myself relief and do this

On my way
it's been a bumper week, I tracked the event and things on my reactivate Clie, and yes, I didn't do is the smae time in English with my blog. this morning, on my way to the airport - I am headng for the GLC in Toronto, one of the best eudcation program in YPO which you can't miss. P. called with a no show number, yes, it's from the extention number on his office line; CNP dicided to promote one candidate within the Taiwan operation and reducing the risk of hiring someone outside the company or even outside the industry, I am not surpise to know the answer, however, this is a very thin line in my kite of shopping for corporate like, is it the fortuen telling me to walk on my own? if this is the hard evidence, then should I step in the CSR industsry which is blur to be a proven market?
sending my resumee to recuriter a weeks ago, from the referral of J. however, there's no feed back also, a letter to Sony - Inayoshi-san, no sign of returning too, I am a little bit lost in the job serching. how should I see myself clearly and to reinvestimetn my career and to secure the family? it seems I am running out of method to keep the basic living of my family, not to mention to secure the bumpering business of csr Community., I can't sit and wait for miracle, this is not a fairy tale and should not be a fantasy, I need to find a way out, out of the dangerous and unpleasant mental sutiation. hey, I didn't work out for months as well. this should be the worst seasnon in my life, and I should find and fight my way back to normal.
what did I do last week? CHTF consuting begins, this can compensate a bit from April onward. once my salary reduce from the company. Ta Ya hit another rock, Mr. Lee want to change something with the park lighting system, it may miss-lead the Green concept and won't be able to connect with city government. Stan's foundation, send the contract with a very fuzz terms. CHT consulting for CSR, Mr. Chiang's childish and foolsish may kick us out of the consulting picture. for the bridge fo governmental project, the National Budget was boycott byt oppitision party and won't be realized by March, so, even there's case flow in, the money won't be arrvied by July. so. what's the income stream for our company, I can't see a dim light, this create a great uncomfortable feeling to me. it's like walking on thin water and have no way to escape, ( I don't remember how many times I wrote - no way to escape since I started my own company )
Tom will be moved from the head of Digital Content Division to ?. informed by Hochen, I can't complain but to thank Hochen to give his second chance, I predict it will happen by March, and it comes. Dr. Yang tret me like his almighty, I can do more, but only a little bit of something. who should be connected? Charles with Dr. Yang again, and Chuang with Charles again? bubble no more, dream less and hoep dilute, this is not healthy, I need to find a way , a way out.
