This is finally final; have the session with A. - the liasion from Tokyo and learned that the decision should be made, as I point out to him, he is the person I respect with a sharp, to the point and efficient way of conduction business; a rational person who sperate personal and professional field in a good manner.
They decided to put K. as CEO from Jan. 1, it will foster my leaving and leave no room for spetecular, although I didn't propose this yesterday, but I favor this decision, as it will turn my exit a simply one, next board meeting will be held in Tokyo by Dec. 21, a special board meeting to approval my resignation and to elect K. as my successor. the message of my regination forwarded to Chairman of Taiwan in the morning via A. and he would have a lunch to inform K. about my decision and his next move.
as I always want to stay at The String once, asked E. to book it for 2 nights and redeem tickets for my wife, we will travelling togerther next month.

Night with Hu - the violist is the YPO event, I checked how many members falling asleep while Hu perform, there are quite a lot, I am not complaining this is a wrong program, but I had a feeling that only a few among the audience really know how to appreciate his talent, I am not in the group, even I had solid experience in music industry.

Officially decline the offer from Chairman Chen on 22nd for the PTS second station, I killed one of my options in the future; arrange appointment with EZfly diretor A. with C. for breakfast, the bid for IYT is on the way, I told myself this is a MUST HAVE , attending EZfly budget meeting, S. can't control his temper, when the first answer can't satisfied him, the emotion erose and there won't be any good meeting, A. came and discuss with me my future in current company, as my leave is a firm situaiton, he will continue the talk with me today.
This is not my WAR, to keep the balance between the head office and current reporting line, as the power play related to the capital arrangment between this 2 entity, there's no way for me to take all the responsibility and ignoring my own future; at least, I should help myself before anyone reach their hand.

Wife told me my father bought a new house in Hunan again, she feels bad for me. as I never asked and never gain, she feels that it isn't fair, I am fine, after all these years, I make it a rule that I can counting nobody but me. initailly, we plan to buy my parent trip to India during Chinese New Year, as my father will go to China today, we have to wait unil he return, he never set a confirm date of returning to Taiwan when visit China. so...

Walking with Stick
The first sight of seeing father walking with a stick was on Sunday; he is 83 years old now and I can gradually witness the glowing old of a man from his everyday life; we iccidentally met outside at the park, kids get off the car and play with him, asked their grandfater walked them to the bookshop, kids learned the elder is easier to take advantage; but my father didn't walk all the way to the bookstore with them, I saw him standing on the corner of convinience shop, push the public telephone button; 2005 in Taipie, there are very few people use public phone; so we saw him from the rear and from the front, he is indeed a qualified old man, however his phisically condition is better than people at his age, and he never admit some dysfuntional attact from the body. but we know his is getting old.this is the reason why wife tried her effort pursuade me to provide vacations in coming Chinese New Year, for a long conversation, we find a good solution, which is to offer my father and mother a luxuray trip and the rest of family member stay at home for New Year, it give room for my wife and at the same time, we managed to offer what we have for the elders. browsing through the web late last night after the second run movie, we identify the " India trip ", wife will do her job today.H. call three times yesterday, I didn't answer any of them, again, this is gone too far and I should learn how to say " No " with a " No response " answer. lunch with one of the best sales head , he is kind of losing confidence in the company and the funtion he perform, I was asked by the Director to do this.people see things in different angle, he happened to be the person cause C. resign; my mission is to re-ignite his fire and passion, keep him stay and belive in what he belive in the beginning - to trace back, in March this year. I think I managed to do it.J. present me the 2006 plan for Kororo, they are very into content driven direction, this is what they good at and what they work for, the direction they plan will put the company in a difficult to generate revenue for self-administration; I am OK with the plan, but when share it with my wife - the President of the company, she is angry, urge me to claim what we loan to the company and simply close the operation, as a outsider, she is right, she straight to the point of how to run a business. and she advise me their won't be any bonus if the company is losing money. don't be mercy to business, I learn a good lesson from her.Myth is an interesting movie Jackie Chen directed, we went for the second run on Monday night, Transporter 2 is a good action movie, after the showing, you hardly remember any line or scene from it, but at the showing moment, you simply go with the speed, car. fight, and this is what we go for - forgetr where we are and put ourself in a nowhere.this is the day to call Chairman Chen, the first offer to kill.
Gathering before the gathering
Saturday after the ping pong session, went for the welcoming lunch with J. - our EMBA classmate who were assign to Phillipine as country manager for about a year. J. is the first classmate who found my column in Business Week 5 years ago when we were the fleshman at NTU. as the alumni will conduct the quaterly gathering next weekend, he can't be there with us, so, we decided to invited him for lunch at last weekend on his return from Manila, the contrast is , he bought the lunch at Luna - the great Italian restaurant for us. there are 6 of us attending the lunch, small group make the itimacy better, J.'s son study in NTU right now and have a dream to devlop himself in the music industry, a guitarist and forming a campus band, as every parent's concern, J. didn't know how to " Stop " his son , well J. is lucky, I had bunch of experience to handle such a case, not necessary to put out his fire, but to illustrate the picture I know in front of him, to magnify what I already know to explore his unknown. we make a deal to meet in 3 weeks when he return to Taipei again.
It's good to resume the family tie with Fruit, on Sunday, I urge wife to take a no pressure swimming and exercise, I will be the house husband, I did it. Sound sleep until 11 in the morning, I took both of them to the Japanese Curry restuarant, where Fruit love the curry spare rib with cheese; Fruit can eat a lot during weekend, after the big portion of curry rice, I bought her Subway Sandwitch, returning home, I sit with Sound as he working on his homework, I grab the time to read the " Winston Churchill " Biography, I managed to finished by his 21 years, right before entering the Army School, the thick book is my homework.
The suggestion of spending Chinese New Year in Palau is in question, as the total spending will up to 300,000 NT, I don't think I should dispose such an amount in this critical moment. think twice and try to figure out a replace plan.
H. called twice , I didn't answer the phone, again, I shall not in the postion to solve his fininal burden, no matter it's big or small, we are not in such a close loop, if the thing goes this way, I think I will jeoperdise myself in a great shadow. no one shall be response for other's future.
Question and Quest
Bringing Sound and Fruit to the Harry Portter - The Gilbet of Fire on Friday night, the first day of screening in Taiwan; as the movie is so popular, we can't get the comfortable seats as we wish, seated on raw 2, you have to getting use of the the giant screen and the sound effects; however, as the story is so attractive, we finished this uncomfortable reveiwing for 3 hours.
after the movie, Sound developed tons of the questions of the Fordefor , the Harry and the logic of story connected to previous episodes, he had a clear vision of what he saw previouse and tried to hook the 3 movies in one imaganation, when getting home, we took the shower together, the non-stop questioning developed again, I am fine with his challenge of all the unknown and feeling happy about his quest for answers.
Fruit appology to me before the movie, I am not sure if this is a good intention before the movie, but I got the chance to know her weakness in some subjects such as : History and Geogrophy study, then I gradually understand that she is lacking of a picture in her mind when learning those subjects, she only tried to memories all the texbook and didn't know how to vividly exercise those knowledge from books. then I told her a few tips in how to effetively study, for history, the key is time / place and people and try to look at them as interesting story, then you will devleop the interested in knowing more, as for Geography, first you must image a map in your mind before any subject, then the climate, shape, location, special product will be easily match to the map.
I am happy that at least , father and daugher begin to communicate, Fruit knows there's a shelter at home, then I will be much more comfortable.
