Photography and Memories
Yang mail me a few photos yesterday, among those old pictures, there's only one show her latest figure - well, even it tells me she is mature and at her 30's, I can't tell when the photo was taken and how old she was then. but the picture must be carefully selected, I share it with my wife, we all agree that she is a beauty for sure.
Other photos bring back a few memories of me. but they are far away, as Yang is diving in the good old days and I thought this is one of the best medicine to support her, I am thinking to bring back those memory for real for her.. how to do it? serching those people in her memories, have them recoreded message to her.. is this a good way? or , to be honest, do I have time to do so?
Attending D. private dinner last night, this is 4 months after he became father, all the Fourm buddy's visit their house and enjoy the night together, A. was absent due to his engagement in Shanghai; it's been 2 months since our last meeting, and we will see each other today at our Forum again. D. hire Ambassodor Hotel to do the catering, 3 tables in total, kids in one table, wife seperate in one table and we occupied one table. the dinner finished around 10 pm, and nobody want to leave. we have lot to share and to talk.
Going home, I asked my wife to open the parcel , this is the birthday gift I bought for her, the beauty drinks, the produce come from Sony Cosmetic Lab, I hope it do regenerate her body and provide her the rejuville feel as well. then we talked about the worst scenior in life, such as how to support our kids in school if I lost my job, how to keep the house or sale it? the negative feeling make her feel sorrow -- this is cause by a few signal in our company, the debute new business - community blog didn't reach our expecation, to be honest, it is way behind our target. the second new business, the ECmall, which we pray a high hope in coming years experiece a serious delay of launch, it's been late for 2 months, and we may fail to reach the dead dead line , which is end of Aug. the system devlopment is a big problem, the project team admit that we choose the wrong vendor and they are not qualified to deliver what we need -- to be specific, even the basic function can not work smoothly; the gap in lauching both new service result to a further 50 millions liability, a faith problem, a break up of sales team and the anti-trust of the shop we acquired for past 3 months.
I have no concrete idea how to present this situation to Tokyo, and I don't know how to make up the loss in time / money and confidence in the comapany, this is why me and my wife sharing the worst scenario last night.
The picture Yang sent is the good medicine for me, seeing your friend fighting for the real life, the turbulence in business will never be a big deal to me. I should be strong and handling is with confidence. Determination is the key to overcome hurdles, you neve know how strong next wave will hit you, be prepared and be optimistic.
Bringing Christine to see Liu - the famouse Drama Director, if she can't be qualified for casting, my wife will trun her down, this is the bottom line.

The story of love
Yesterday was the 60th annivesaly after Second World War, on my way back to Tapai, I sat beside Mr. Wu - Vice Chairman of CCA, he was a jouralinst , a scholoar before join the BAIN administration, and a author , he told me a true story about love in the White Terrior Era in Taiwan. this is the story of love :
Once there's a prinspal of one primary school - emmigigrate from Hunan, he was caught by the Milary Policy , accuse for consiparacy, at the White Terrior Days, when they caught someone, he must submit another 5 names, otherwise the tourcher will make you feel like in hell. so, the prinspal was caught contribute by someone he don't even know. they were sent to Green Island - an off shore island from Taiwan, there's a prison cage for all the political prisnor. the man behavor very well doing his time in the jail, and he develop a habit of painting - drawing, he will darw other prinsors at the same area. one day he found a girl - very young girl, she must at her high school age. he watch her and begin to pain her everyday.. then they communicate by some secret trick, such as passing note.
As he behavor so good, the adminstration decided to release him earler for porlor, but as he is single in Taiwan, no one can bail him out as his insurancer. One day, the girl's brother came to visit his sister, she told her bother this situration and asked her brother to bail him out. this need extraordinary courage, he did it , and the man was released, but he didn't leave, he stayed at Green Island for another one more year, waiting for the girl, then they got married and raised 2 children. the kids are now in there 40's, but the stroy was disclosed 5 years ago. one of their children is now a famous conductor, last year, they return to Green Island and held a Peace Concert... Their son was the conductor for the concert that night.
Isn't it the story of love?
Monday is a very busy day. I send strong message of the crisis we are facing, maybe I am too agressive, or maybe I am too anxious, when doing the re-budget prelimerary meeting, the gap is 45millions NT. the people who sit at the conference room thinking nothing but cut cost - cost saving is the negative way of doing budget; to achieve goal is the positive way of conducting business. but it seem all the business uint running out of there brain and energe, I asked Corporate Planing Manager to held an emergency meeting for this, then we did it in the last evening again.
One director insist to look at the fact and truth, the rest of division heads dislike the mentality he probe, the ambience in the conference room turn weired, and then a call of " Who Give up the business of growth ? " making him so uncomfortable. we finished the meeting ahead of schedule. then I approch the dirctor and asked him to join me for a coffee.
The stress make him tremmble and shed a few tears. we spend a hour at Starbucks and I share my experience in handling such thing, and advise him why I challenge the new business so firence, because " Executive reward the result, not the process ", I told him this is the pace everyone must walk by, I told him , I have to be the person to tell everyone " We can make it " even though I knew the chance of success is slim, I should always try my best to see where the miracle can come. and this is the key : even we lose everyghing, we can't throw away our hope.
I am tring my best to save the company, my demending attitude cause a few manager panic, but, this is what I must do, not what I love to do.
Met with Shin Chen - the graphic artist and review his business plan, this is an infant stage of doing business, I don't know how to help and where to begin. I may need a little bit more time to think about it.
Receiving Kororo's " Apirl Ryposody ", I love it, the production cost is around 2 millions, they are expect to sale to 10 millions, I don't know how they going to do it, but I will help.
Summer Sonic
Spend 3 days in Tokyo for Summer Sonic - The first experience in Music Festival in my life; as a Rocking Roller who dive in the world of pop music for 2 more decades, this make my first experience for Festival -- to be honest, this might not be the idea festival to me, but to feel the ambience in a short trip is what I can afford.
I didn't want to participate in any festival in the beginning, as I don't want to get involved in the " Previliage Devided " concept. so I reluctant to spend goverment's fund. as C. asked if I can go with them this time, I tried my best to accomodate the scheduled and set this short trip and enjoy half of the Summer Sonic 05 -- A very commercial product in the hot summer day.
Flying to Tokyo make the trip totally different, by arrangement, I sit beside C. and we talked about the International Music Fesival in Taiwan, we talked about the future we anticipate, we share some idea of value / career and so on, I was too concentrate on this conversation and it cause me headache when arrvied at Tokyo, we didn't take nap on the plane, she keep the high spirit talking with me.
The flight delay and we managed to check in the Excel Tokyu Hotel by 11:30 Tokyo time, the first after checking in conversation take place from 12:10, C. Yang and Lin - 4 of us spend about 1 hours at the 24 hours Cafe', it rains cats and dogs, we were trapped in the hotel.
Following day is the first show day, we -- the senior ones thought the gathering is by 10:00 am, after breakfast, Tao and us were stand by at the lobby, no one show up, I called up to F. who keep the tickets for us, he replied that he thought the gathering time is 12:00, well, we have another 2 hours to kill, C. dressed up like an office lady, I aked why she wearing this to the festival, well, she have her agenda , conducing vaires offical greeting with the Vice Chairman of Consuel of Culture Affair, her appointment will be started by 11:30, we take the window to enjoy a coffee across the street at ZOKA - where we found in AKASAKA, she mentioned to meet me at the venue and we may leave earlier -- like 7:00 pm.
Gathering with other seniors and junior, we take the Metro and transfer to JR for the festival, arriving by 2:00 pm, I brough those senior to one of the best Pork Carllet restauarnt, then we begin our jounery of Summer Sonic, there are 7 stages and one Dance Tent, the exhibization hall is a showcase venue with other muisc / festival related product , food and drink were located in the venue for the 2 days event. Marine Stage is the main stage to host major artist, we have to take the shuttle bus to the Statium , after a few hours checking with Main stages, we went for the big statium and I manged to get lost and enjoy my day alone, Deep Purple is the only talent we saw, then I move outside , took the shuttle back to Main stage, I am afraid I can be connected with C. however, there's no coincident, we met at the hall way by 7:00 pm, she had the confidence to find me. then we begin our own journey of sharing. I brough her to the Fried Pork restaurant again, we take the JR / Metro and I bought her to Shinagawa String Hotel, we enjoy the drink - she ordered the KIWI Martini, I drank S. Penegrino... we firmly believe that we should bulid our own future , the business of our own. as I promise her to help facilitate the workshop following day, when finish our drink and went back to our Hotel, it's 12 already, I began to prepare everything we need for Workshop, I didn't know when I get to bed, but this is the first time I go out travelling with no time to turn on TV set at hotel room.
Get up , Business Center is closed, I found Kinko - the self service instant office to print the handbook, CCA didn't find a good place for meeting, thus we go to ZOKA, as the facilitator, I spend 3 hours with them and the consensus wear gradualty built -- I thought we reach an agreement and I hate to take over this complicate task. this is my pre-mature naive thinking.
On my way to airport, at the plane, sitting next to Vice Chairman, we share some and become familiar. I promote how the non-public secotor can plan a vital role in the IMF, and make belive we have a best team ever, the hard sale make him feel comfortable. until I receive C.'s mail on Monday, the consensue we built wan'st there, they want Culture instead of Money and dislike my intepretation to make the festival a " Product ", C. advise me to hold from now and don't need to waste effor on this. the last line she mentioned is : this keep her think we should work together and she will help me achieve what we want to achieved.
Summer Sonic, see a few, gain a lot, we have long enough time to share and learn how to work from the ground.
